On windows/doors. We’ve had some inquiries from residents who want to replace windows and the double sliding doors in their units. It has been difficult to find a vendor willing to do this work in our building, particularly on the upper floors. We did get an estimate from one vendor for $8000 to $12,000 per door/window depending on size. The board would like to get an idea of how many owners might be interested in replacing their doors/windows. The goal would be to see if we could negotiate a better price for multiple replacements. The project might also require use of scaffolding which would be an additional expense. Please let me know if you are interested.
On HVAC. A couple of years ago a number of owners got together and replaced their HVAC at the same time. This resulted in some savings on unit cost as well as rental of the lift. If you are planning to replace your HVAC units this year let me know.
